Many years ago, there really was a mail boat in Malabar! Talk to the town residents to hear the many stories about this haven for mariners. Malabar is REAL Florida living near the Intracoastal Waterway. Sandhill cranes, gopher turtles, and many other “Florida natives” live in Malabar. Our wonderful and talented photographer, “Skip” Burdette, is one or OUR favorite Florida natives! When you are ready for an evening “on the town,” Palm Bay and Melbourne are just a few miles north.
LITTLE HOLLYWOOD
Winding along the Sebastian River, Little Hollywood brags a neighborhood marina and great neighbors! Off the beaten path and offering mostly on-the-water living, this little community is “old Florida” living. Ready to live on or near the water, do some fishing, and get that boat you always wanted? Make yourself famous in Little Hollywood!
THE TOWN OF GRANT-VALKARIA Best known for the Grant Seafood Festival each February! The festival features some of the finest seafood along the Atlantic and attracts more than 50,000 seafood lovers each year. Grant-Valkaria is a fantastic community-controlled rural area and even touts a championship golf course, The Habitat. Haven for both wildlife and golfers, this course is located in close proximity to the Indian River Lagoon and the southern boundary of Brevard County. Horsing around a pastime of yours? MICCO
On the east coast of Florida in southern Brevard County, Micco nestles between Palm Bay and Sebastian. Near the Indian River and with a direct waterway to Sebastian Inlet, this quiet community is ideal for boating and fishing enthusiasts. MELBOURNE AND PALM BAY
Melbourne and Palm Bay offer a little busier lifestyle. Great restaurants and the Melbourne Mall provide dining and shopping destinations. Commercial flights serve the Melbourne airport. Brevard Community College makes its home in Melbourne. The Maxwell King Performing Arts Center hosts national entertainers and traveling Broadway events. Make sure to cross a causeway and visit Melbourne Beach!
